Assumptions: That this will be run on Ubuntu 20, 22, or 24 LTS, and that the user can be either root or a non-root user.
The code should work for both types of users.

When making updates to the code, appropriate modifications should always be made to the README.md file to keep it up to date.
If there are manual modififications made since the last chat, those need to be accounted for when generating new code changes. Assume they were there for a reason and use them unless there is a good reason not to.
