# Cursor Rules

## When using a shell

USE BASH OR ZSH

## When committing code, please follow these rules:

1. Git status before committing to see what files are yet to be added/committed
2. Add files explicitly to the commit message (never use `add .`)
3. Add a short description of the changes to the commit message
4. Keep the commit message concise and to the point
5. Format the commit message using best practices
   1. Use present tense
   2. Do not end the commit message with a period
   3. Make the commit message a single line
   4. Capitalize the first letter of the commit message
6. Git status after commiting to ensure all files are committed. Repeat these steps if necessary
